Quality of life and development of Pato Branco:

Pato Branco is among the 40 Brazilian cities with the best Human Development Index (HDI). It presents one of the biggest concentrations of masters and doctors per population in the country; almost 30 undergraduate courses (public and private); extremely low violence index and a structure of commerce and services which offers practically everything you can find in big centers to the citizens.

The base of the economy is formed by the sectors of agriculture and cattle breeding; education, (specially undergraduate and graduate courses); health, which is represented by three important hospitals (Policlínica Pato Branco, São Lucas Hospital and Thereza Mussi Hospital) and an Oncology Unit, that is the option for cancer treatment in the countryside of Paraná. In Pato Branco, there are more than 400 medical professionals who directly stimulate the services structure and other segments which are involved in these sectors and move the commerce in the region.

In the industrial segment, the most important sectors are metal-mechanics, with the production of pans and stoves; electronics, through the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná (UTFPR); furniture production and clothing.

Humid Subtropical mesothermic climate, with hot summers and tendency to rain concentration (average temperature above 22ºC). Winters with occasional frost (average temperature below 18ºC), without defined dry season.
